YES! (said almost exactly like Simon said it in regards to “Silver Rainbow”)
Listening now
Great to hear your interview with Steve. Well Done.
I’ve been lucky enough to see his last 4 tours and as Simon says it was good to hear his solo work. As much as I enjoy Steve keeping the music of Genesis alive as a Live entity, it’s great to hear him play the older stuff from his solo albums. Although my lie shouts for Virgin & The Gyspy seem to fall on deaf ears!!!
I found a link to your page on steve hackett’s FB page and listened to interview which was great, then proceed to listen to the podcasts of “Foxtrot”, “Trespass” and Garbriel 3 in the space of 12 hours. I guess you could say I’ve felt and little isolated for decades now in that I have no friends left that love Genesis. While I found the podcasts’ insightful, fun and well produced, I felt the group lacked an older member who was introduced to Genesis in the 70’s. It seemed all of you had gotten into the band in the 80s and gotten into the “classic lineup” afterward and that makes a huge difference in perspective (pun from Gabriel 2 intended) I know you guts already have a great thing going but if you’d like the thoughts of someone older, let me know. even if I didn’t formally join, if I could chat with you before future broadcasts and give you some thoughts, if not I’ll keep listening anyway, pun again, sorry I can’t help myself, my qualifications will be apparent if you talk to me. super pumped to be seeing SHackett in Portland on march 29 kenmar superfan
Thanks, Ken! We’re happy to be your virtual Genesis-fan friends! Usually when we post a poll asking to vote for your favorite song, that podcast is the next to be recorded, so please post your comments/thoughts and we may incorporate them in the show! It’s always good to hear other perspectives. 🙂 Tom
