Am i the only person who thinks Acting Very Strange is the only good Mike Rutherford solo album?

Such a question can’t be answered, in a world full of people. You certainly take courage, maybe only you see AVS’ true colors.
It is not a bad album, just mostly not interesting, for me. It is not the singing, just that the material is not very interesting.
Both Mike and Tony can create amazing material, or boring. Calling All Stations is not bad, it is just not interesting. I suspect Phil Collins is not geting enough credit for making them sound interesting and driving them to interesting directions.
I can’t prove it, but I suspect Calling would have been a great album if Phil would even just produce it.

Good lord, probably. SMALLCREEP’S DAY is by far the best Mike solo attempt. Though that may not be saying much, can we call any of the Mechanics albums “solo” albums? Isn’t it a full-on band?

Another very enjoyable episode guys. Thank you for your time and efforts, really appreciated.
These podcasts are so absorbing; as someone else said, all my other podcasts are piling up and being left behind! Love the idea of bringing in other guests. I’ve been checking out Katherine’s website – it’s excellent. Well done, keep them coming (even though I’ve loads of older episodes to catch up on but I’m saving them for when I can really give them the time they deserve 🙂
    Thanks again!
