I believe this to be Phil’s last truly great album. Bought Both Sides but Phil insisting to play all instruments left me cold. Excellent vocals and lyrics but nowhere near as good as But Seriously..
Great to hear Stacy again. Always providing a bit of contrast in like and dislikes to Mike and Tom :). “Hang in Long enough” is a good track, but I don’t relate to the lyric that much. Love the harmony and atmosphere of “That’s Just the Way It Is”. Spot on with “Do you Remember being a better version of “Never a Time”. “..Heaven” is next on my list, and it’s a banger. I don’ think I was quite with you folks on “Colours”, good, but not maybe a favorite of mine. I agree with Tom on the Video and audio contrast of “I wish it would rain down.” Great song, OK video. Was surprised to hear of the difference in CD order and vinyl. “Another Day..”, overplayed, but I really did appreciate it when I first heard. Yeah, I’d have to say “Heat on the Street” doesn’t do much for me. “All of my life” is a lovely ballad. Yes, Tom, “Saturday Night” should’ve been extended like West Side. Being a father, “Father to Son” hits me when I hear it. Enjoyed your comparison with P.G.’s song on the same subject. “Find a way”, YEAH, love this track, right with Stacy on this one.
