I picked one song out of the 12 for Duke but man I gotta tell ya it was not an easy choice. I love, love, love this album from start to finish and the way it flows from beginning to end. Definitely a hard call to make. Also on a personal note it was the first of only 2 times I’ve seen the band live .(Madison Square Garden 1980 and Tempe 1984)
Heathaze is a great coupling of music and lyrics, such a sweet, lazy melody. Not the greatest on the album, but I really like it, and Someone should vote for it! 🙂
Difficult to choose amongst these stellar tracks. Each evokes a different emotion as the band makes great strides to find it’s writing and playing voices as a 3 piece. Can’t wait to the the TTG team’s takes.
Perhaps in the future we could do rankings instead of trying to choose a single favorite track? I’d also appreciate being able to nominate more than one album track to fill the same slot on the ranking scale. The “favorite track” option is a bit frustrating because in the case of Genesis, not only do I often like several tracks equally well, exactly which tracks those are can change too easily. I’m sure others would agree.
Listen to the time signature of Turn It On Again, and try and clap along to it!! The sheer genius of Phil’s drumming!!
Loving your shows!

Just like my favourite kid is the one I’m with at the time, my favourite Duke song is the one I’m listening to when you ask.
