After Both Sides I’ve never listened to any of Phil’s albums. I’ve got all of his albums but his music after But Seriously went sour for me. I do ear the odd track on radio and it’s OK! But nothing like 89 and before.
No favourite track. This was the first Phil Collins album I didn’t buy or listen to. The music got so sappy I just couldn’t do it. Dance into the Light was his last good album IMO.
This album has some good songs on it but does not flow well as an album. If you put tracks from it in a playlist then many old their own .. but for some reason start with track one and hit play .. it lacks something.
I love wake up call, come with me, it’s not too late, least you can do and the title track.
While ordinarily I would say that the worst Phil Collins album is better than the best album from most anyone else, this is the exception to that rule. This album is nearly unlistenable, I did push through it yesterday only to find maybe two or three decent songs, but clearly the best song is the cover of the Leo Sayer classic, “can’t stop loving you”. Some of the songs sound like the repetitive stuff my kids make up in the back seat.
It’s a Phil CD that flys under the radar and has some good tracks on it
