Loved the episode (as usual)! But I have one question. Why did you all not cover the songs that were not included on W&W (i.e. Match of the Day, Pigeons, and Inside & out)? Is this going to be done as a separate podcast since it was an EP?

Yes! We try to keep the podcasts less than 90 minutes if we can, but we did discuss the Spot the Pigeon EP AND Seconds Out – this will be a mini-podcast sometime in August. 🙂

Hello all in the podcasting team,

This is the first time I have encountered this podcast and podcasting team, well done for effort and energy into getting this off the ground.

It sounds to me that there is a well balanced team talking here, friendly yet educational teaching each other about things like Laird etc.

Keep up the good work and if there is anything we can do at The Genesis Archive, just contact us and let us know. We are a huge repository for information about Genesis and solo.

Great podcasts !! Keep them coming…. anxious to hear the take on ATTWT !!! I write this as a long LONG time fan since seeing Watcher of the Skies on Midnight Special !!

    1. Oh why the mellow on Your Own Special Way?…. love the lyrics, “of turning the worlds so it’s facing the way that I’m goin”….. damn that is good ! One thing I do agree on.. a BIT too long but only a BIT !! =) ok ok 4-5 bits you win !
    2. LOVE me some WOT GORILLA…. but there are no bad instrumental songs by Genesis! Never thought of it being more of a ATTWT sound… good call!
    3. Blood On the Rooftop…. simply intensely beautiful, could listen to that every day.
    4. Afterglow…. nuff said. Classic…… as I am listening to your thoughts.. this is one I wish I had some bass pedals sitting in front of me to play. I play the bass guitar but this is a pedal song all the way. When I saw this live in Chicago in 2007 it had chills and possibly close to tears….

Perhaps my favorite album….. beautiful, melodic, driving, romantic, classical, fusion jazz and simply magic. Thanks for your thoughts… it’s nice to hear some other folks as crazy as I am !!

Thanks for the comments! It really says something about a band when a piece like Afterglow can STILL raise the hairs on your neck even after the umpteenth listen! 🙂

I just listened again to “Your Own Special Way” and loved every second and would not change a thing!! I think a lot of it is WHY you are listening to it….. required listening changes how you hear that song…. if you listen casually and enjoy it, I found that the length was no issue. Even thinking as I listened to it, what part I would take out…. and my answer is, NOTHING !!
Loved it… thanks to your group for pushing me to listen to these old songs with new thoughts and a new appreciation!
