I actually like the Fugitive. Certainly better than Acting Very Strange. I think Banks’ vocals are okay whereas Rutherford’s makes “Strange” unlistenable.
I must be in the minority. I love this album. Even Tony’s vocals. There’s variety and authenticity throughout. I prefer it to A Curious Feeling. Yes, I said it. I prefer it to A Curious Feeling!!!
I must have listened to this album from start to end just once, for a long time I couldn’t get pass the second track so I shuffled through it undecided on which track was worth a complete listen. Thirty Three’s may be the one, being the only instrumental, but in my opinion it’s got too much Duchess flavour to it although I’m not crazy about that one either (unpopular opinion!).
I don’t understand this album at all. It’s hideous. Everything about it is dumbed down synth pop. Only MR’s Acting Very Strange can surpass this as the worst solo G album.

The last track on AVS (‘Hideaway’) is, at least, a saving grace. Somewhat Beatlesque/ELO’ish, even.
I’ve started listening to The Fugitive recently while WFH in preparation for this episode and I have to say it’s really growing on me. Typical Tony Banks……you need to give it lots of time then it sticks. It’s really good, imho!
When is the episode coming guys? I keep checking my podcast app every day 🙂

Probably the worst solo effort although Acting Very Strange comes a close second IMHO
