Gabriel singing “Supper’s Ready” on FOXTROT is superior version IMHO.

The Second’s Out version of Supper’s Ready is played better, but for me the magic is in the Foxtrot version.

I like both, depends on what mood I’m and what CD I have playing etc. can’t split them, I’m a rare breed I like all* genesis music. The only song I find I skip is invisible touch….

Honestly, if I am being absolutely honest, I sort of prefer the “Seconds Out” version of “Supper’s Ready”.

I like both versions. But I have to admit that I absolutely love the cello on the studio version.

As for the previous poll, again I cannot actually see the poll. Am I theonly one with this problem? Maybe one of the panel can email me privately and we can try and sort out the reason.

Thanks, the link is visible for me in your post immediately above, but not in the header post.

I won’t be voting in this poll because I don’t have Seconds Out – I’m not really a live album person. However I would have liked to vote in the Selling England poll.

Thanks, but I can see both polls again now, as normal, same as it used to be. Obviously you fixed something.

Obviously the Foxtrot version is the better but there’s a frisson in the live recording which a studio performance cannot attain.
The Carpet Crawl is the better when compared to the studio recording because we can hear Steve Hackett’s beautiful guitar part. It is the highlight of the album.

The Carpet Crawl is beautiful indeed here, far prefer it to the Lamb version, Phil’s voice far sweeter than Peter’s was. And the guitar…wow.

But if I have to choose one track, I have to go with Cinema Show – for the same reason – Phil’s voice just nails it.

Special mention to Firth of Fifth – purely for Steve’s solo, which I think betters the studio version.
